Construction
23 AWG bare copper wire insulated with thermoplastic. The plenum refers to the space in buildings used for air circulation for heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems, often in the space between the structural ceiling and a drop-down ceiling or under a raised floor. Plenum-rated cable is coated with a fire-retardant material to prevent flames from spreading and to reduce the amount of toxic smoke produced in the event of a fire.
